Afscheidsfotografie voor dieren
Ik heb lange tijd in de uitvaartsector gewerkt. Daar heb ik van heel dichtbij gezien wat foto’s kunnen betekenen, wanneer iemand er niet meer is.
En meestal zijn het niet de perfecte foto’s die achteraf de meeste betekenis hebben. Wel de foto’s waarop mensen gewoon lekker zichzelf zijn.
Fotografie is mijn passie, en sinds kort zet ik mijn camera ook in voor afscheidsshoots. Niet meteen een onderwerp waar iemand graag aan denkt. Maar vroeg of laat staan we er helaas allemaal voor: afscheid nemen van een trouwe vriend.
Een tijdje geleden kreeg ik de vraag of ik een afscheidsshoot wilde maken voor Othello en zijn nabestaanden. Elke vezel in mijn lijf zei toen “ja”.
Ik zag hoeveel die foto’s voor hen betekenden. Hoe ze er achteraf, dag na dag, troost uit haalden. En toen wist ik: hier wil ik iets mee doen.
Zo is het idee ontstaan voor afscheidsfotografie voor dieren.
Onze dieren maken jarenlang deel uit van ons leven. Ze zijn er gewoon. Elke dag. Tot dat plots niet meer zo vanzelfsprekend is.
En als we afscheid moeten nemen, dan doet dat verdorie echt veel pijn.
Wanneer je voelt dat de tijd samen begint te dringen, leg ik vast op camera wat jullie voor elkaar betekenen. We nemen alle tijd en volgen het tempo van je dier.
Geen stijve poses of geforceerde glimlachen. Wel foto’s die laten zien hoe het écht was.

Reach for the stars, my nephew told me when I told him I wanted to start on my own. And he was right. Life is too short to rest on your laurels. So I decided to follow my heart and my passion : photography.

Beautiful postcards. For anyone looking for something beautiful and original. The images are rather intimate and poetic, with many images from nature. There is variety, but a general style stands out: rather understated with lots of play of light and attention to small details. The price is dirt cheap; you definitely get value for your money. Hopefully, the selection will expand, but that is the only downside I can think of. The ordering process was smooth, and the delivery was top-notch as well. Definitely recommended!
