Farewell photography for animals
I worked in the funeral industry for a long time. There, I saw up close what photos can mean when someone is no longer with us.
And usually, it is not the perfect photos that have the most meaning in hindsight. Rather, it is the photos where people are just being themselves.
Photography is my passion, and recently I have also started using my camera for farewell shoots. Not exactly a subject one likes to think about. But sooner or later, unfortunately, we all face it: saying goodbye to a loyal friend.
A while ago, I was asked if I wanted to do a farewell shoot for Othello and his surviving relatives. Every fiber of my being said “yes” then.
I saw how much those photos meant to them. How they found comfort in them, day after day. And then I knew: I want to do something with this.
That is how the idea for farewell photography for animals came about.
Our animals have been part of our lives for years. They are simply there. Every day. Until suddenly, that is no longer so self-evident.
And if we have to say goodbye, then that really damn hurts.
When you feel that time is running out together, I capture on camera what you mean to each other. We take our time and follow your animal's pace.
No stiff poses or forced smiles. Just photos that show what it was really like.

Reach for the stars, my nephew told me when I told him I wanted to start on my own. And he was right. Life is too short to rest on your laurels. So I decided to follow my heart and my passion : photography.

And every now and then I'll release a new mini-collection of t-shirts and sweaters with a unique print of one of my photos.

Beautiful postcards. For anyone looking for something beautiful and original. The images are rather intimate and poetic, with many images from nature. There is variety, but a general style stands out: rather understated with lots of play of light and attention to small details. The price is dirt cheap; you definitely get value for your money. Hopefully, the selection will expand, but that is the only downside I can think of. The ordering process was smooth, and the delivery was top-notch as well. Definitely recommended!
